About Us
Big Bear Air is located at the Big Bear City Airport in Big Bear City, California. Our Instructors have over 50 years of mountain flying experience flying throughout the Western U.S. on charters and Air Attack on forest fires for the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.

Big Bear Airs' existence is based on a flying passion. We’re here because we love it and know you will love it too. Our Instructors make every effort to create a positive and productive training environment. We focus on training safe and competent pilots. Big Bear Air offers you not just a pilots' certificate but also important mountain flying techniques. We also provide instruction for pilots who are disabled with the use of hand controls installed in our aircraft.

About Big Bear
Big Bear Air is located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains approximately 80 miles East of Los Angeles, California. The airport is located in the Big Bear Valley at an elevation of 6750 feet and surrounded with Pine and Oak trees. The ridges around the valley have a height of 7800 to 10,400 feet at the highest point. The airport runway is 5800 feet long and 75 feet wide. Our lake is approximately 7 miles long and has approximately 23 miles of shoreline. With an average sunshine of 330 days per year the activities are endless with Snow Skiing, Water Skiing, Fishing, Boating, Hiking and Mountain Biking. If this isn’t enough Southern California beaches and Golf in Palm Springs is only a 1.5 hour drive from Big Bear. Disneyland is a 2 hour drive and Las Vegas a 3.5 hour drive or better yet only a 1.5 hour flight. Numerous accommodations are available to choose from along with a variety of restaurants and stores to provide for every need.
